Austin is well known for the full size steam engine that sits high atop a strong steel frame at the entrance to the community. Travelers from all over the world have stopped to get a picture of this pioneer mammoth of the plains.
COMMUNITY HALL BUILDING PROJECT
The old hall has been demolished. We are still fundraising for the finishing touches, like landscaping, licenced deck at the rear or the hall, cabinets and storage units, windows, and finishing the parking lot. The building is open and being used but we are not done yet. We still need some financial help. We'll be at it for another year before we can say we are done and satisfied with the finished product.
All of you who have ever lived in a small town know how vital a community meeting place is to the area.
